What’s New at Church of Our Saviour
Baptism Classes
January 11 and 18, 2026: Classes for parents thinking about having a child baptized.
My Church Family
One of the things that Alice and I have really enjoyed since becoming part of this church is the intergenerational focus. “Our church really appreciates kids,” Alice reflected one day after we attended a service at another church, at which kids were shuffled in and out like a small stampede to which the adults gave a wide berth.
God Has Claimed Us as Beloved Children
I have met so many people who can’t trust churches.… I would never want to impose faith on someone, but it breaks my heart to see people suffering, knowing that a church like Our Saviour could help them through their pain.
2025 Christmas Services
Peace be with you! It's almost Christmas … Take a little time away from the chaos to pray with us for peace.
Bring Donations for Arlington EATS on Nov. 2
With SNAP benefits expected to stop November 1, food pantry use is expected to be particularly high.
Guest Preacher: The Rev. Anne Gardner
On Sunday, October 26th, The Reverend Anne Gardner, author of And So I Walked, will serve as our guest preacher, offering a reflection on her experience of walking the famed 500-mile Camino de Santiago.
A New Logo for Church of Our Saviour
One of our priorities for the year was to clarify how Church of Our Saviour tells our story through words, images, and symbols. Christians have always done this: think of the power of color, shape, and icon (e.g., the cross) in shaping our faith traditions.
Renting Our Parish Hall
You can rent our space for practice, rehearsals, and performances.
Learning Series: “Making Time for the Spirit”
We will offer a learning series in September called “Making Time for The Spirit.” These will be brief, 30-minute classes each Sunday after worship.
Teen and Adult Classes to Grow Deeper as a Christian (or prepare for Confirmation)
Some of us had the experience of being taken to church when we were little. Others of us did not. Either way, at some point, we ask ourselves, “In a culture where being religious is a choice, do I want to follow the way of Jesus?”

Read on for our Summer of 2025 schedule of Sundays in June, July, and August…
Video: Small Church as a Laboratory for Experimentation
New Models of Episcopal Evangelism Series: "Small Church as a Laboratory for Experimentation" presented by the Rev. Malia Crawford and the Church of Our Saviour in Arlington, MA.
God’s Got Your Back
The other day, I was meeting with people helping to organize a diocesan group to march in Boston Pride June 14. After brainstorming possible slogans for a t-shirt, we decided to print “God’s got your back” on the back of the shirts.
Trusting in the Power of Jesus’ Saving Love
The other day I saw a car whose bumper sticker said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.” I wonder what that bumper sticker meant to the car owner, and what they hoped it would accomplish.
God’s Love for the Beings on this Blue Dot
“Deep Sky follows the high-stakes global mission to build JWST and launch it into orbit one million miles from Earth, in an attempt to answer questions that have haunted us since the beginning of time. Where did we come from? How did the universe begin? Are we alone?” … While this project was clearly scientific, the ultimate purpose behind it struck me as theological.
Putting Our Trust in Christ the King
Every year, on the last Sunday before Advent, we mark the Feast of Christ the King. The celebration feels anachronistic and bizarre in a country that eschewed monarchy. This year, though, I find it a source of comfort and strength.
The Beauty of Small Churches
Below is the sermon I preached at Church of the Good Shepherd, Watertown for the Institution of The Rev. Andrew Goldhor as their rector in February 2025. Thank you, people of Our Saviour, for teaching me about the beauty of small churches!
Food Drive, June 1st
The youth of Church of Our Saviour are inviting our neighbors and parishioners to join us in a food drive for Arlington EATS on June 1.
